Make-up-Products Tips

The correct order to apply makeup products. Do you know it?

Hey,

It’s all fun and games until you start wondering whether the order which you apply color cosmetics in is the right one. Even if you do this correctly, there is always a friend of yours who would tell you that ‘she knows better’ so you should listen to her and change your habit of doing makeup. So what’s the correct way of applying makeup products?

Step 1: Hide all the imperfections

Discolorations, broken capillaries, acne and other skin imperfections have to be covered up with a concealer. Use a tiny amount of this product (apply topically) to hide the skin lesions. I’d recommend you to use a special concealer brush. Then, use either a sponge or your fingertip to blend the concealer into the skin.

Step 2: Apply the foundation

Reach for a brush or a beauty blender because now it’s time to apply a foundation. I guess I don’t have to mention that the product you want to use must match your skin tone and – which is even more important – your skin’s needs. It shouldn’t pose any problems since drugstores are full of moisturizing foundations for dry skin, mattifying foundations or heavy coverage foundations for acne-prone skin. How to select the right shade? Well, distribute a small portion of a particular foundation and spread it over jaw and ala of nose. Wait until it combines with skin. If you can’t see it after a while, this means that the shade is just perfect for you.

Step 3: Apply powder

Basically, once you find the right shade of a foundation, applying powder is secondary. Still, I’d advise you to use a translucent powder/pressed powder. Such product will give you a nice-looking finish. The thing that should be realized, don’t apply too much of powder. Just a small amount will do, trust me. Of course, use a big and fluffy brush.

Step 4: Define the eyes

Eye shadows, eyeliner, mascara and eye pencil – use them now. When it comes to eye makeup, you are free to arrange your own order of applying the very products. Also, I can’t tell you what products to use in particular because it depends on the event you want to attend, season and time of a day.

Step 5: Make your cheeks more lovely

In order to define your cheeks, use a blusher that is similar to the colour of your natural blush. Apply it to the top of the cheek bones. When it comes to color tone, match it with the lipstick’s that can be either cool or warm. Please, mind the amount of blusher used – don’t apply too much. Otherwise, you will look comically.

Step 6: Time for lips

The last step depends on defining your lips. And here are two things that should be born in mind. Again, the tone of the lipstick must match the blusher’s. Secondly, it’s important to keep the lip-eye balance. And by saying that I mean that either eyes or lips should be eye-catching. To clarify, if you apply heavy eye makeup, leave your lips neutral.
