Herbs to improve face skin

Hey girls!

My today’s post should appeal to the women having oily, acne and combination skin. I’m well-aware of how challenging it is to take good care of such skin types – I used to struggle with acne and oily face really long myself. From my experience, I can tell you that all-natural cosmetics and herbal skin toners gave me the best results. If the topic of homemade skin care products interest you, please carry on reading. You won’t be disappointed.

Herbs to fight off acne

No doubt, they are my personal life-savers. They work wonders. You can be sure that herbs appear to be extremely useful if you have problems with awfully oily face, if your skin is affected by acne and if you aren’t able to do full-coverage makeup, even though you keep doing your best and apply high-quality products. What I love about herbs is the fact that they don’t contribute to dehydrating the face, yet somehow they are able to degrease it perfectly. On the top of that, herbs are proven to unclog skin pores and work like an astringent. This means that herbs are able to prevent bacteria multiplication so the problem of acne gets visibly reduced over time.

Try to prepare some herbal infusions at home to take good care of the skin. Obviously, preparing them is child’s play. Pour hot water (90ºC) over the chosen herbs and let it cool down. Such infusion can be used safely for approximately four days, provided that you keep it refrigerated. In case you don’t know it, you should make use only of the soft parts of a herb like leaves and petals if you want to prepare an infusion. However, if you want to obtain a decoction, you have to use the hard parts of a plant such as roots or bark.

Herbal skin toners

In the bitter fight against various nasty skin concerns, herbal skin toners appear to be surprisingly mighty weapons to reach for. Below you will find a short list of the herbs you can use to combat many skin problems.

Thyme

It works best for acne-prone skin because it’s able to cleanse the pores and make skin a little bit more tight. Apart from that, thyme is antibacterial and fungicidal. It’s proven to promote tissue healing and prevent inflammation. If you want to enjoy the benefits of thyme, try making a thyme infusion.

Horsetail

Cleanses, smoothes and frees the skin from excess sebum. Combats skin breakouts. It’s a source of silica, magnesium, calcium, potassium and phosphorus. If you want to give horsetail a try, prepare a decoction. There is just one word of warning for those whose skin is prone to discolorations and scars – be careful with horsetail because it can cause allergic reactions.

Common sage

This herb is known for having a soothing effect on the skin. It’s beneficial for combination, oily and acne skin. It’s anti-inflammatory, reduces sebum secretion and deals with shiny T-zone. Common sage leaves the skin fresh and chilled. Try making a sage infusion to enjoy all these benefits.

Nettle

Another herb that is able to cleanse the skin and kill the bacteria. Nettle reduces inflammation and seborrhea. This green plant is a rich source of iron, folic acid, magnesium and a few vitamins. Treat your skin with nettle infusion.

Chamomile

Soothes the skin, reduces redness and deals with irritations. Helps to combat breakouts. Chamomile infusion is recommended to combination, oily, acne and even sensitive skin.

Mother Nature comes to the rescue! As you can see, there are many herbs that can help you combat acne – and the best bit is that herbal infusions are super cheap!

I hope you know that you have to be careful with skin lesions – treat them carefully.
