Once the summer is over, I reach for beauty products that deliver slightly stronger effects and target particular problems that my skin has to face. Are you curious what products I have chosen this autumn? Let me invite you for a post in #autumnvibes style.
Autumn in my personal care
When the chilly weather is coming quickly, my beauty routine is slowing down… I do the ‘refurbishment’ in my makeup bag.
I no longer feel like doing dozens of beauty treatments such as hair oiling, skin exfoliating, applying hair masks or making DIY cosmetics – of course, I have energy for such things, but in the summer 🙂
Therefore, autumn is a resting phase for me when I can break away from all of these time-consuming beauty treatments. Please, don’t get me wrong – it doesn’t mean that I neglect the needs of my skin! It’s the opposite – I supply it with more nutrients but in a concentrated form to save up some time.
What are the post-summer needs of my skin?
The only thing you should know is how to recognize your skin’s needs so you can carry out the post-summer treatments correctly.
Well, there are a few points to tick:
- moisturizing because summer madness contributes to skin dehydration;
- regenerating and fixing what was damaged by UV rays;
- removing the discolorations that the sun caused;
- revitalizing, which includes cleansing, smoothing out and nourishing.
From my own experience I can ensure you that once you focus on these four aspects, than you will surely keep providing your skin with stunning looks and energy on every day of autumn. What beauty products for autumn will help you achieve this goal?
My top beauty products to use in autumn
My favorite cosmetics to use in autumn are… the ones that smell like ginger, orange and cloves 🙂
When I want to get into the full swing of #autumnvibes, I turn to everything that is connected with this time of the year. When it comes to autumn beauty products through, we can divide them into two groups.
Skin and hair care products for autumn
Relaxation is my top priority, so in my case autumn is the perfect time for taking long and warm baths – in the summer I prefer taking a quick shower. Bathing is the best time to take out all bottles of the wonderfully-smelling bubble bath, salts and essential oils (aromatherapy in autumn is like hitting a jackpot).
While I’m sitting comfortably in a bathtub, I usually have time to apply a hair mask, sheet face mask; sometimes I remove the cuticles surrounding my nails because they are easier to get rid of when softened by water.
Once I get out of the bath tube, I spread a body balm on my skin. I choose it to extend the lifespan of my summer tan, moisturize my skin and embrace my entire body with a nice aroma. Fresh citrus aromas and flowers are off the table now because they are replaced with the smell of gingerbread and forest (pine in particular).
Color cosmetics for autumn
No matter the season, we must look nice, right? Of course, I change some bits and pieces of makeup so it suits the autumn aura better. What do I do?
All the neon, vivid and bold colors, greens, yellows and violets get into the very bottom of my drawer. All the shimmering and glitter eye-shadows can rest now and wait for the next spring/summer season. It’s time for more natural colors.
The color cosmetics that I use in autumn are: a nourishing BB cream that is one tone darker than the complexion (skin is still tanned) and nude eye-shadows (bronze, beige, apricot, pastel pink). Also, I reach for nourishing and moisturizing face mist that smells orange!
My autumn beauty hit: Face serum
As I mentioned it earlier, during autumn I’m for effective personal care, not for the time-consuming one. At the same time I said that you must moisturize, nourish, regenerate, highlight discolorations…
My savior and the perfect autumn cosmetics is face serum. One product that provides my skin with energy boost and handles comprehensive care, so to say. A serum that I like most is the one containing vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, which gives me everything I need for my autumn skin care:
- maintains the hydration;
- has a delicate exfoliating effect, so it smooths my face skin out;
- reduces discolorations and fine lines;
- makes skin more supple by stimulating collagen production;
- protects skin against the sun and free radicals;
- nourishes and fosters skin self-renewal processes.
