Let me invite you on a tour of my beauty bag. Boring? Let me surprise you. I’ve got some superb make-up stunners I’d love to share. I know you often seek some great beauty products that are easy on the pocket and work great. I’ve got them, love them, recommend them. Let’s move on to the point: what are your new make-up must-haves?
My beauty essentials: the best make-up products!
1. FOUNDATION
To me this is the key make-up product. It’s a life saver: you apply it and no one can tell you’ve had a sleepless night, you are exhausted. This happens to all of us but it doesn’t mean people must see it, particularly if you work with clients and are expected to look flawless and full of life. A quality foundation saves lives. The one from Kat Von D is my favorite: even though it’s pricey, it gives spectacular effect, plus lasts long months so it surely pays off. If you want a cheaper option, Revlon Colorstay Foundation has been selling out for years. This stunner comes in two versions for oily and dry skins. Plus, it’s budget-friendly.
2. BB CREAM
If you don’t like foundations because they feel too heavy, choose a perfect BB cream which improves the appearance of skin, evens its tone as well as ensures intensive care and protection. Missha BB Cream is my favorite and unlike most BB creams it is available in many colors so you can customize it to your skin tone. The Missha cream gives a stunning satin finishing touch, perfect smoothness and looks so natural that you look like you’re not wearing make-up at all. 😉
3. SETTING POWDER
This miraculous powder makes your make-up stay on. If it’s natural/mineral, it additionally conditions and nourishes the skin. Loose powders often create a shield that protects against the sunlight. I am faithful to two types: any loose rice powder, just make sure it’s natural (easier on the pocket), and Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder (yeah, I’m a huge fan of her products). It’s one of the very few powders that guarantee camouflage of dark under-eye circles. A miraculous lightweight product which doesn’t settle into face lines.
4. EYEBROW PENCIL
I know this isn’t a must-have for some of you but eyebrow pencil is an essential element of my make-up. I always use it as a finishing touch. My brows are quite sparse and thin because I’d been plucking them religiously in the past (this was the trendy look in the 90s). Obviously, thick, full brows are in now, and I’m trying to re-grow them with a brow serum. Still, make-up is necessary to make them bolder. My beloved Maybelline Pencil gives an amazing look – dual-ended pencil has lots to offer.
5. 2in1 BLUSHER AND LIPSTICK
You don’t need to overspend on lipsticks and blushers. You can get just one 2in1 game-changer. The shade of a blusher should go with the shade of your lipstick: this rule is still applicable. A product that gives you subtly-enhanced cheeks and lips makes a perfect solution. There are plenty of such products. I like products from Avon because they have beautiful packaging, lovely colors and are customized to different skin tones.
6. HIGHLIGHTER STICK
The one from NYX is a must-try. It is a magical product that works for all parts of the face: use it for highlighting the area below the brows, inner eye corners or Cupid’s bow. Feel free to apply it on the cheekbones and nose bridge. Surprisingly it can even replace your eyeshadow! This highlighter is real treasure and absolute must-have. You can magically make an amazing look. Use it on the lower eyelids to make the eyes appear bigger. Smooth it across the shoulders and neck for dazzling skin.
7. MASCARA
Obviously, every beauty bag must include a good mascara. Lashcode is my favorite because it’s a conditioner at the same time: strengthens, nourishes and helps lashes grow thick and long. You must give it a try!
